Bookish News
Information about the new book and the state of The Reframe over the remainder of 2025.
Hello fellow humans. I'm giving you a quick update today rather than your regularly-scheduled multi-thousand word wordbomb. Those of you who have been reading along are aware that this year I've been planning a second book of essays curated from The Reframe (the first being Very Fine People, which came out in June last year).
The first book was made possible by Founding Members, and the deal at the time was that Founding Members who wanted to keep getting similar books (or who simply wanted to continue to sustain my writing) should keep renewing. To my enduring gratitude, most have done so, which means another book is in the offing, and I'm sticking to next June as a target. To meet that schedule, I'm going to try to have a complete draft by the end of January. This wouldn't be a realistic timetable for a normal book-length manuscript, but these have already been written and subjected to a decent amount of editing, so I'm reasonably hopeful that I can meet the goal.
I'm just about done curating the essays, which I did mostly by asking Founding Members and then all paid subscribers for their nominations. That part is essentially done (paid subscribers, you have a week or so left if you want to email me your picks), which means I'm starting the more daily grind of refining the essays that have been selected. This is going to involve the unlovely but vital process of editing, and it's clear to me that doing this is going to take more than a little bit of my time and attention.
What that probably means is that newsletters aren't going to be as weekly as they have been for a little while. This is not to say that there won't be any (I'll have a LOST post pretty soon for example), but we might be on a semi-weekly cadence during this time and the newsletters might not drop as predictably on Sundays; I'll just put 'em up as I finish.
Who cares? is a question I ask myself before sending these sorts of messages out. Well, maybe you care, and, as you are my readership, that means I care, too. Or maybe you don't care, in which case you probably aren't reading this and no harm done even if you are. Either way, you are now informed, and what's better than being informed?
In the coming months, look for more announcements about the contents and the publication date, and title and cover reveals, and other stuff you can read if you care, or even if you don't care.
Maybe you want to become one of the people who make books possible. If so, now would be a particularly fortuitous time to join the ranks of the Founding Members; you'll receive a free signed and inscribed (if you want that) copy of the new book, and also (at least through the end of this year) a copy of one of my existing books, and you'll get thanked by name in the acknowledgments section (if you don't opt out of it).
Or you can subscribe at a lower level, which also helps sustain my work as an independent writer. There are coupon codes allowing you to pay whatever you want. Here's where you can find all the information about all of that.
And here's how you subscribe at standard levels, including Founding Member level.
Looking for a tip jar but don't want to subscribe? Venmo is here and Paypal is here.
All done! Thanks for reading for as long as you have and whatnot.
A.R. Moxon is the author of the novel The Revisionaries and the essay collection Very Fine People, which are available in most of the usual places, and some of the unusual places. You can get his books right here for example. He is also co-writer of Sugar Maple, a musical fiction podcast from Osiris Media which goes in your ears. Just like Roger he's a crazy little kid.
